lang=\"de\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Description of the holiday cottage<\/h2>\n<hr align=\"center\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The owner of the holiday cottage is German building-engineer Peter J\u00fcrgen Scheibe.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>How to find the holiday cottage:<\/h2>\n<hr align=\"center\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<p>The holiday cottage is in the small hamlet of Skjelfjord, about 3km from the E10 main-road through Lofoten.<br \/>\nIf you\u2019re coming from the east, then the junction to Skjelfjord is a few kilometers after the village of Ramberg on the left-hand side, or if you\u2019re arriving from Moskenes in the south-west, then the road to Skjelfjord is on the right-hand side a couple of minutes after the bridges to Fredvang.<br \/>\nOnce on the Skjelfjord road, continue on through the village and towards the end on the left-hand side you\u2019ll see a small sign with a \u2018half-troll\u2019 on it.\u00a0 This is the house.<\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>The holiday cottage:<\/h2>\n<hr align=\"center\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<p>The house itself was built in 1953 and is of a relatively unusual type in Lofoten, being built as it is, with brick-cavity walls.\u00a0 The house is actually insulated by hemp and flax, which until now are types of insulation which have never been used in Norway.\u00a0 We\u2019ve also installed a new type of heat-saving \u2018thermal window\u2019, manufactured by the German firm \u2018Weru\u2019.<br \/>\nPeter\u2019s ultimate goal is to build the Lofoten Islands\u2019 first ever completely eco-friendly house.\u00a0 Everything has of course been, and is being finished to the upmost quality, and in addition, all the proceeds which Peter makes from the house during the holiday season are reinvested into the property in order to maintain these high standards.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2018 the bathroom was renovated during the installation of a new water and waste system.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that the village of Skjelfjord has the best drinking water in the Lofoten Islands, coupled with the fact that during the summer the midnight sun shines directly onto the house, only serves to highlight what makes this house so appealing as a holiday destination.<br \/>\nIn the near vicinity of the house (about 4km) is the small town of Ramberg.\u00a0 The village of Skjelfjord (and, of course, the house) is situated on the island of Flakstad, and Ramberg is the main \u2018town\u2019 on the island.\u00a0 It\u2019s not a particularly big place, but the town is equipped with everything you\u2019d expect from a small town.\u00a0 We have a couple of small supermarkets, a petrol station, a doctor\u2019s surgery, a library, a few galleries and indeed one of the finest beaches in the whole of Lofoten (a beautiful white sandy beach which the locals call \u2018Copa-ca-Ramberg\u2019, and after which a small beach in Brazil was named\u2026).\u00a0 In Ramberg there\u2019s also a fantastic restaurant, a pub and a campsite.<br \/>\nFrom the house, if you follow the road in the other direction it takes you a few kilometers towards the end of the peninsula, where you\u2019ll find the beautiful, though unfrequented old abandoned fishing village of Nesland.\u00a0 From there it\u2019s possible to take a walk along the coast of the island round to the picturesque traditional fishing village of Nusfjord, which has now been converted into an open-air museum and boasts a fine local sea-food restaurant along with other attractions.<br \/>\n20 meters in front of the house is a big stone in the water, on they often lands a sea eagle. This incredibly and beautiful animals are often found in Skjelfjord. The existing binoculars at the house, should therefore be always ready to hand and will not forget it by walk-outs.<\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Inside the holiday cottage:<\/h2>\n<hr align=\"center\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<p>The main part of the house is located on the second floor, where there is a fully-equipped holiday flat, complete with an excellent kitchen, living room, shower room, one double bedroom and two singles.\u00a0 Downstairs there\u2019s also a laundry room and utility room for bicycles.<br \/>\nArranging of the pick-up of the keys for the house etc. is organized through booking.<br \/>\nPeter is always available to answer questions and queries about the house and of course
