Walk

Fredvang Ytresand Mulstöa

Duration: 2    Difficulties: Easy – medium
The trip starts from the bus stop and goes along the sea. After about 1 km you will get to an old road which lasts for about 1 km. On the trip you can see an eagle catcher cave from old times. We walk around the mountain towards a place where people used to live many years ago. We can see where the houses and the barn used to be. There is also a beautiful beach. Remember to bring good shoes and something to drink.

Fredvang Ytresand-Heia

Duration: 3    Difficulties: Medium – hard
The trip starts close to some houses and then up along a construction road up the mountain. Then we follow a footpath which goes about 65* zigzag up until we get to the top. If the weather is good, you can have a fantastic view of the local council of Flakstad and towards the big ocean. Remember to bring your cameria with you. Good shoes, something to drink and stamina are a necessity.

Fredvang/Torsfjorden Kvalvika

Duration: 2,5   Difficulties: Medium – Hard
The trip starts from the parking site, and we follow a marked path up until we get to the first “meeting place”. After that we walk straight ahead until we get to a scree. Close to the scree there is an old gipsy cave. It is not so easily found if you don’t know where it is (there is off course a story about this cave). The trip to Kvalvika requires strong and steady legs because there will be some “climbing”, first down and then up the mountain again. On the way down you can see signs from old settlements, and you can see the beautiful beach towards the big ocean. Lots of tourists and families are visiting this place during the summer just to see the midnight sun. Good shoes, something to drink and stamina are a necessity.

Fredvang Torvmuseum

Duration: 1   Difficulties: Easy
We start from the parking site and walk along the pasture on a marked path. About 5-10 min later we come to a country courtyard where the museum, build by local people, is. Inside the small museum you can see pictures and a variety of old things which describe how people used to make peat in the old days. The red old cottage is the last one from an old settlement here in Fredvang. The last person who lived in the house died in 1991 – he was over 90 years old.The house was given to the museum in 2007, and moved to where it is placed now. Good shoes are a necessity as the ground can be a bit wet..
